Youth – The Power of Identity

The future lies with our children.  Their “Identity” or self-image is key to how they will move through life. Identities are made, not born. It’s how we see ourselves, and is shaped by the positive or negative influences, experiences and conditioning of other people and our environment. Even at a young age we have the power to accept or reject these inputs.  The challenge is, lacking the maturity gained in later years; we often, unknowingly, make poor or limiting choices.

One’s identity becomes the “guidance system” for life. We perform more from our identity than from any knowledge or skills we have. A poor identity leads to talents going unused. Life will be lived small and cautious.  On the contrary, a positive identity allows one to move with confidence, ease and boldness.  More risks will be taken, more potential unleashed.

L.E.A.D.’s carefully crafted youth programs are designed to challenge participants to see themselves in a new light and to reinforce the positive meaning they take away from the experience.
